11 Reasons to Get Excited About Training Camp

The Chargers are gearing up for training camp and fans are, too. Today marks 11 days until the start of camp, so read through to find 11 reasons to get pumped for a day at camp.

1. Free entry

All 14 public practices are free, with both bleacher seating and standing room available.

2. Get up close and personal with your favorite players

You can get a front row seat to watch Chargers stars like Philip Rivers, Joey Bosa and Keenan Allen. If you're lucky, you might even be able to grab a selfie or autograph.

3. A glimpse into the future

As you watch rookies like Derwin James take the field, you'll be getting a first look at the future of the Bolts.

4. Hi-five zone

Between 9 a.m. and 10 a.m., give a Chargers player a hi-five as they arrive at practice. It's a memory that will stick with you forever!

5. Joint practices

The Chargers will be teaming up with the New Orleans Saints August 22 and 23 for joint practices, which means you get to watch two teams instead of one (and also get a glimpse of what our August 25 preseason game against the Saints might be like).

6. New merchandise

Be the first of your friends to be decked out in the latest Chargers gear as all the latest team merchandise and apparel will be available for purchase on-site at the Chargers Team Store.

7. Food, food, food

You won't want to miss out on the delicious food offerings including Chargers BBQ presented by Tulsa Rib Company and Sprinkles Cupcakes.

8. Win awesome prizes

Enter the daily training camp sweepstakes for an opportunity to win great Chargers prizes. On the last day of camp, one lucky winner will walk away with the grand prize of a pair of 2018 Chargers season tickets.

9. Get in the game

Fans of all ages can participate in our Chargers "Activation Zone," to compete in the 40-yard dash, return punts or take on the QB challenge. Note: anyone under the age of 17 will need to have a parent/legal guardian sign a waiver clearing them to participate on site (no taking home waivers and coming back with a signature) each day they attend.

10. Theme days

Join us for special theme days that include Youth Football Day (Thursday, Aug. 2), Special Olympics Day (Monday, Aug. 6), Salute to Military Day (Monday, Aug. 13), First Responders Day (Wednesday, Aug. 15) and NFL Flag Football Day (Monday, Aug. 20).

11. Fun for the whole family

Along with practice, there are plenty of activities that the whole family will enjoy including interactive games for all ages, face painting and special photo opportunities.
