Five Fun Facts about Branden Oliver

*This offseason, we want you to get to know our players a little more off the field.  *

While you may be aware running back Branden Oliver signed a new contract with the Bolts in March, here are five fun facts you may not know about number 32.

True Foodie: If there's one restaurant Branden Oliver can't live without, it's True Food Kitchen.  Oliver said he likes the restaurant for its variety and health-driven menu. "Lately, I'm always ordering off the appetizer menu.  I'll get the kale guacamole and pita chips or the soup of the day.  I'll usually get the ancient grains bowl and I'll probably add steak, salmon, shrimp or chicken.  They take all my money!"

Fav Player: Oliver is a big basketball fan and grew up watching the Miami Heat.  "When Dwyane Wade came in and was drafted there, he was my favorite."  While he said he still watches the Heat, he's now a Chicago Bulls fan because of number 3.  "Along with Michael Jordan, Wade is definitely my favorite player."

Home Hobbies: Oliver spends most of his free time at home playing video games or reading.  "I play NBA 2K a lot but I'm trying to wean myself off of it.  I also like to read; I'll read the Bible and biographies on Jackie Robinson and Abraham Lincoln.  I like real history about people.  I don't watch a ton of TV, but my favorite show is Blackish.  Whenever that's on, I'll tune in."

First Job: While other Chargers like Tyrell Williams washed dishes and Derek Watt worked registers as their first jobs, Oliver was a salesman.  "Before college, I worked for Cutco.  It was go at your own pace so it didn't seem like a real job.  But I did that to just put a little money in my pocket before I got to college."  Oliver said he did make sales from friends and family members but quickly learned the trick to making money.  "All you really had to do was get 10 names down and then you got about $15 for each name."

Thrill Seeker: Oliver is a big fan of theme parks.  With the move to Los Angeles, he's more excited than ever to visit some new ones.  "I haven't been to Six Flags or Universal Studios yet.  I've been to Disneyland.  I love roller coasters.  That's my only reason for going to theme parks.  If they don't have good roller coasters, I'm out!"
