Registration for the Annual "Bolt to the Q" Now Open

Chargers fans can join Pro Bowl cornerback Jason Verrett at the sixth-annual Kaiser Permanente BOLT TO THE Q on Sunday, July 24.  Entries for the popular 10K, 5K and half-mile Kids Fun Run are available at www.bolttotheq.com.

The EARLY entry fee is $35 for the 5K and $50 for the 10K. Children 12 and younger can register for $15.  Proceeds benefit Boys & Girls Club of Greater San Diego, a non-profit charitable foundation serving more than 25,000 youth and their families in the greater San Diego region.

"I'm excited about being a part of this great event that encourages a healthy lifestyle while also raising valuable funds for kids in our community," Verrett said. "I hope to see a lot of fans come out and run or walk in this fun race."

The BOLT TO THE Q 5K and 10K events start in the Qualcomm Stadium parking lot and finishes inside the stadium on the 50-yard line.  The half-mile Fun Run for children will also be held at the stadium.  All participants will receive a BOLT TO THE Q Nike Dri-FIT shirt and a commemorative finisher's medal.

New this year, the BOLT TO THE Q will feature a VIP hospitality tent for corporate teams. Guests will get an opportunity to meet Chargers coaches as well as former and current players while enjoying pre-race refreshments. The team that brings the most runners to the start line wins the Chargers Corporate Cup. In addition to VIP hospitality benefits, the Chargers Corporate Cup team will receive the Corporate Cup Trophy and a group photo on the 50-yard line after the race.

After the race, runners will celebrate with family, friends and fellow runners at a post-race festival with live music.

"The Kaiser Permanente BOLT TO THE Q presents a unique opportunity for all San Diegans to get fit and have fun, and at the same time help children throughout San Diego," said Jane Finley, Senior Vice President and Area Manager for Kaiser Permanente San Diego. "Come out on July 24 to run, walk, or just enjoy the festivities; while helping the Boys & Girls Club of Greater San Diego. See you on the 50 yard line!"
