After signing six players to Reserve/Future contracts on Monday, the Chargers inked another trio on Tuesday. All three spent the 2017 season on the Bolts practice squad.
As a reminder, players who were not on an active roster at the end of the season are eligible to sign a reserve/future contract, and revert to the active roster at the start of the new league year.
Here are the three players that were signed on Tuesday:
WR Andre Patton – The 6-2, 200-pound Rutgers product played in 44 career games for the Scarlett Knights, totaling 90 catches for 1,164 yards and 10 TDs. Patton caught three passes this preseason for 30 yards.
CB Jeff Richards – Initially claimed off waivers by the Carolina Panthers, Richards spent the entire season on the practice squad. The 6-2, 210-pound defensive back played the previous two seasons with the Ottawa Redbank in the CFL, helping them capture the 2016 Grey Cup championship. In college, he appeared in 23 games with 14 starts for Emporia State, recording 84 tackles, 12 passes defensed, five interceptions, two sacks and three blocked kicks.
WR Artavis Scott - Clemson's all-time leader in career receptions, Scott was an All-ACC pick in each of his three seasons with the Tigers. The 5-10, 190-pound wideout caught 245 passes for 2,458 yards and 19 touchdowns in 43 career games. He also set a school record by catching at least one pass in 38 straight games to finish his career.
