Justin Jones and Jason Moore joined two fifth grade classrooms from MLK Elementary in Los Angeles Unified School District to read sections of the book, "Who Was Martin Luther King, Jr.?," and discuss Dr. King's life and legacy.

On Wednesday, December 16, the Bolts and Pepsi worked with the Inglewood Unified School District to host a safe and socially distanced donation at Hudnall Elementary in Inglewood. More than 100 families from the Inglewood community received Chargers blankets, Chargers beanies, a $100 grocery gift card, Pepsi beverages, and Frito Lay snacks.

The team partnered with Pechanga Resort Casino to donate over 200 bikes, locks, and helmets for kids at the Boys & Girls Clubs of Metro L.A.

For their final Hometown Hero of the 2020 NFL season, the Chargers honored Keisha Daniels for her work with Sisters of Watts, a nonprofit that's dedicated to serving underprivileged communities in Southern California, and especially for all her efforts through Sisters of Watts to provide relief to these communities during the ongoing COVID-19 pandemic.

The Chargers Honored Battalion Chief Eddie Sell as their Hometown Hero in Week 11. Eddie has served on the Long Beach Firefighters Association as a director and now volunteers as a Southern Director for CSFA. Eddie has responded to large scale incidents throughout his career including wildfires, high-rise fires, civil unrest, mass casualty incidents, technical rescues, hazardous materials incidents, and the COVID-19 pandemic that has affected our world.

At our Salute to Service game on November 8, 11 Chargers players donned helmet decals with the initials of those fallen soldiers.

The Chargers honored Merging Vets & Players (MVP) member, Jamal Ali as their Hometown Hero in Week 10 for his volunteer work alongside fellow veterans on programs supporting rescue animals, promoting mental health awareness, and using physical activities such as surfing as a way to stay connected to the veteran community.

The Chargers honored Dr. January Lopez, a physician and radiologist, as their Hometown Hero in Week 7 for her tireless work in treating breast cancer patients and raising awareness for breast cancer screening and prevention.

In tandem, the Chargers and Local Human purchased "More Than a Tee" shirts for the entire Chargers organization. All proceeds went to the LA Unified School District to support black and brown teachers and students.
