Over his three seasons in Miami, Barry helped a Dolphins offense that was among the most dynamic in the NFL. During his first season with the Dolphins in 2023, Barry coached on a staff that tutored the NFL's top offense, leading the league that season in total offense (401.3 total net yards per game) and passing offense (265.5 net passing yards per game) while ranking No. 2 in scoring offense (29.2). The Dolphins defeated the Denver Broncos, 70-20, in Week 3. It marked the most points scored in a single NFL game since 1966 and the performance made the Dolphins the second team to have more than 700 yards of offense in a single game.

Barry spent the 2022 season as the offensive line coach for the Denver Broncos, helping the offense average 113.8 rushing yards per game on the year. Prior to his year in the Mile High City, Barry was the assistant offensive line coach for the San Francisco 49ers in 2021, coaching under 49ers then-offensive coordinator Mike McDaniel. Barry worked with a line group that saw tackle Trent Williams, guard Laken Tomlinson and center Alex Mack earn Pro Bowl recognition. On the year, the 49ers advanced to the NFC Championship Game behind an offense that led the NFL in passing yards per play (8.21) and red zone offense (66.7 percent), while the unit ranked No. 7 in rushing offense (127.4 yards per game).

In 2020, Barry worked as a senior analyst for the Green Bay Packers in 2020. That season, the Packers won 13 games and advanced to the NFC Championship Game behind quarterback Aaron Rodgers, who earned NFL MVP honors from The Associated Press after throwing for a career-high 48 touchdowns. One season prior, Barry was the offensive line coach at the University of Miami. The 2019 Hurricanes featured a pair of 500-yard rushers and seven players with at least 300 receiving yards.

Barry broke into the NFL as a coach with the Tampa Bay Buccaneers as the assistant offensive line coach from 2015-18. In his first season, Barry helped coach guard Logan Mankins to a Pro Bowl, while running back Doug Martin ranked No. 2 in the NFL with 1,402 yards. That season, the Tampa Bay offense allowed just 27 sacks, tied for the fourth-fewest in the league, and ranked No. 5 in total offense (375.9 total net yards per game) and rushing offense (135.1 rushing yards per game). The 2018 unit paced the NFL in passing offense (320.3 net passing yards per game) and ranked third in total offense (415.5).

Barry lettered three years as an offensive lineman at Central Michigan University (1996-2000), earning All-Mid-American Conference honors in 2000. He broke into coaching at his alma mater in 2002, working as a graduate assistant for the Chippewas for two years (2002-03) before coaching the offensive line at Southwest Minnesota State University from 2004-05.

Following his first appointment as a position coach, Barry spent three seasons at Michigan Technological University (2006-08), spending his first year as the offensive line coach. He then added offensive coordinator responsibilities for his final two years with the Huskies. Barry spent the 2009 season at North Greenville University, working as offensive coordinator/offensive line/recruiting coordinator.

Barry then returned to Central Michigan, spending another five seasons coaching at his alma mater (2010-14). He coached the tight ends from 2010-13 and the offensive line in 2014. The Chippewas ranked third in the conference in total offense in 2010 and sported top-three passing offenses in the MAC in both 2010 and 2011. Barry coached tight end David Blackburn to lead all MAC tight ends with 479 receiving yards and five touchdown grabs in 2011.

Barry and his wife, Andrea, have two daughters, Aislin and Bridget, and a son, Finn.
