Ben Rabe enters his third season with the Chargers in 2026 as the team's director of performance analytics. In his role, he oversees the analysis of data and information surrounding player physiological development, as well as identifying and implementing strategies to enhance player performance.
Previously, Rabe served on the strength and conditioning staff at the University of Michigan from 2019-23, a period that saw the program reach historic heights with three Big Ten Championships and culminated in a 15-0 season and College Football Playoff National Championship in 2023. He joined the staff as an intern in 2019 before being promoted to assistant football strength and conditioning coach, a role he would hold through the 2022 season. Rabe ended his time in Ann Arbor, Mich., as the program's director of performance analytics.
Rabe joined the Wolverines after a two-season tenure as a graduate assistant at East Tennessee State (2017-18), where he supported the strength and conditioning staff. While at East Tennessee State, Rabe earned his master's degree in sports management, graduating in the Spring of 2019. He interned in the Spring of 2017 in football sports performance at Northwestern.
A native of Genoa, Ill., Rabe played defensive line at North Central College in nearby Naperville, Ill., where he graduated with a bachelor's degree in exercise science with a minor in psychology and coaching. He worked as a student assistant coach as a junior in 2015 while rehabbing from a torn ACL, helping the defensive line and strength and conditioning staffs.
Rabe and his wife, Katie, were married in May 2023.
