Fan Can Expect Another "White Hot Sunday" Home Opener

The San Diego Chargers are urging fans to join the players and wear white to make it a "White Hot Sunday" on Sunday, Sept. 18 against the Jacksonville Jaguars at Qualcomm Stadium.  The game kicks off at 1:25 pm PT.  The team will be wearing white pants with white jerseys at the home opener for the fourth year in a row.

Chargers season ticket members who renewed their seats received a free white "Charge On" T-shirt.  In addition, new "White Hot Sunday" T-shirts are available for purchase at the Chargers Team Store at Qualcomm Stadium for just $19.

The Chargers believe this move is an opportunity for the fans in the stands to make another tangible impact on the outcome of the game.

"This is a tradition that we started a few years ago," said Chargers President - Business Operations A.G. Spanos.  "It's been great to see the fan response, uniting with our players on the field. Anything we can do to help foster a home field advantage is incredibly important.  We hear that from our players often, and this is a concept that our fans have embraced.  It's a yearly tradition we all enjoy."

Quarterback and offensive captain Philip Rivers said: "I think the guys, as players, enjoy wearing white because it is a change up for us and seeing the stadium all white on our first home game is exciting. Coming off a tough one last week, we are going to need it to be a great atmosphere and we are going to come out and get the win."

"For us as players, seeing the fans wear all white shows how the community backs us on and off the field," said defensive captain Brandon Mebane.

The Chargers have won three of their four previous "White Hot Sunday" home openers, including last season's 33-28 win over the Detroit Lions.

All fans in attendance Sunday will receive a White Hot Sunday Roller Banner, compliments of Bud Light.

Tickets to Sunday's game as well as all games are available online.  And a special offer just for Sunday's game: All ticket purchases between now and Friday midnight on Ticketmaster.com will be charged "no fees".  (Does not apply to previously purchased tickets or tickets purchased on NFL Ticket Exchange.)

Tickets are also available at the Chargers Ticket Office at Gate C at Qualcomm Stadium Monday thru Friday, 8-5 pm, and Saturday, 10-4 pm.
