Henley spent the 2025 season as run game specialist for the Dolphins, helping orchestrate a Miami rushing attack that featured running back De'Von Achane, who totaled 1,350 yards and eight touchdowns. Achane led all qualifying rushers with 5.67 yards per attempt, earning the first Pro Bowl nod of his career. Meanwhile, Henley helped center Aaron Brewer to be named a second-team All-Pro from The Associated Press, the first All-Pro recognition of his career.

As Miami's assistant quarterbacks coach (2022-23) and senior offensive assistant (2024), Henley worked with the Dolphins quarterbacks. Over those three seasons, he helped quarterback Tua Tagovailoa earn a Pro Bowl selection and lead the NFL in passing yards in 2023 (4,624), while pacing the league in passer rating in 2022 (105.5). During the 2023 season, Tagovailoa became the first Dolphin in 20 years to win AFC Offensive Player of the Month, which he was recognized during September. Tagovailoa was also recognized as Comeback Player of the Year by Sporting News following the 2023 season.

Prior to his time in Miami, Henley was the assistant offensive line coach for the Atlanta Falcons in 2021 and a quality control coach for the Tennessee Titans from 2018-20. With the Falcons, he worked on a staff that saw running back Cordarrelle Patterson total 1,166 yards from scrimmage. In Henley's first NFL experience, he helped the Tennessee offense average 144.5 rushing yards per game over his three-year tenure with the Titans (2018-20). He helped Tennessee to an AFC Championship appearance in 2019 and an AFC South title in 2020.

Henley coached six seasons at the collegiate level, coaching tight ends at his alma mater, Yale University, from 2015-17 after spending time at Vanderbilt University (2012-14). In his final season at Yale, the Bulldogs went 9-1, earning the program's first outright Ivy League title since 1980. Henley coached tight end Jaeden Graham to first-team All-Ivy League recognition. At Vanderbilt, Henley began as offensive/recruiting graduate assistant from 2012-13 before spending the 2014 season as assistant quarterbacks coach. In his first two years with the Commodores, the team won nine games in back-to-back season for the first time in program history.

Prior to his coaching career, Henley worked in sales at IBM and Google. He previously also worked as a part-time researcher for NBC's Football Night in America. As a wide receiver at Yale from 2002-06, Henley totaled 110 catches for 1,609 yards (14.6 avg.) and 11 touchdowns. He was the team's lone captain in 2006, leading the Bulldogs to an Ivy League Championship and pacing the team in receptions, yards and touchdowns. Henley graduated with a bachelor's degree in sociology from Yale and then went on to earn a master's degree in higher education from Vanderbilt.
