2018 OC All-Star Classic Lives Up to the Hype

Those watching Sunday's Pro Bowl saw the AFC rally from a 17-point halftime deficit to get the 24-23 win.

Still, that comeback wasn't nearly as dramatic as Saturday's Orange County All-Star Classic, which features the best high school players from North and South Orange County. With Forrest Lamp and Denzel Perryman in attendance as honorary captains, this game also saw a team rally from 17 points down to pull out a come-from-behind victory.

However, their odds were far more daunting as the South squad trailed the North by a score of 24-7 in the fourth quarter

But in what was one of the craziest finishes for a football game, the South began an amazing comeback through quick scores and a safety to emerge with a 30-27 win. With the victory, the South now leads the all-time series 28-27-4.

The 59th Annual Orange County All-Star Classic, formally known as the Brea Lions Club North vs. South All-Star Game, is a long-standing tradition dating back to 1959.

This is the second year the Chargers were part of the annual showcase.

In 2017, the Bolts and Costa Mesa United teamed up to save the event after it was in danger of being cancelled.  The Chargers fund all aspects of the game, and plan it alongside the game's charitable benefactor, Costa Mesa United, a non-profit organization dedicated to improving the quality of sports fields, facilities and equipment throughout Costa Mesa. In addition, the Bolts provided Chargers game pants straight from the team's equipment room for kids to wear as well.
