The NFL Notebook takes a trip around the league to keep you up to date with some of the biggest news this week:

Similar to last February, another quarterback shakeup in the AFC West seems imminent.

On Wednesday, ESPN's Adam Schefter reported that the Baltimore Ravens are planning to trade veteran quarterback Joe Flacco to the Denver Broncos. Trades cannot be made official until March 13, the start of the league's new year.

Flacco, 34, was replaced by rookie Lamar Jackson in Week 11 after the veteran suffered a hip injury. The Ravens won six of their final seven regular-season games after Jackson took over as Flacco didn't take another snap for Baltimore in 2018. The Chargers beat the Ravens, 23-17, in the Wild Card Round of the AFC Playoffs.

In 11 seasons with the Ravens, Flacco compiled a regular-season record of 96-67. He went 10-5 in the playoffs, and his performance in the Ravens' 34-31 win over the San Francisco 49ers in Super Bowl XLVII earned him MVP honors.

Broncos head coach Vic Fangio and Flacco overlapped in Baltimore from 2008-09 when Fangio was the Ravens' linebackers coach.

Around this time last year, the Kansas City Chiefs agreed to trade quarterback Alex Smith to the Washington Redskins. It was a move that paved the way for Patrick Mahomes to take over in Kansas City.

Murray Turns to the NFL – Heisman Trophy winner Kyler Murray announced on Monday via Twitter his intentions to be a full-time NFL quarterback.

Murray, a former standout in both football and baseball at Oklahoma, was drafted ninth overall by the Oakland Athletics in the 2018 MLB Draft. He will participate in the 2019 NFL Scouting Combine later this month in Indianapolis.

Last season, Murray threw for 4,361 yards and 43 touchdowns while adding 1,001 yards and 12 scores on the ground. Murray and Oklahoma fell to Alabama 45-34 in the College Football Playoff semifinal (Orange Bowl).

NFL Network draft analyst – and Chargers radio analyst – Daniel Jeremiah has Murray ranked No. 29 on his initial list of top 50 prospects entering the 2019 NFL Draft.

Top NFL prospect tears ACL – Mississippi State defensive tackle Jeffrey Simmons – regarded as one of the best overall players in the draft – announced on Tuesday via Twitter that he tore his ACL while doing position drills last weekend.

Simmons earned first-team All-SEC honors in each of his last two seasons. He ended his collegiate career with 163 tackles (33 for loss) and seven sacks.

In a draft loaded with defensive linemen, Jeremiah ranked Simmons as his fifth overall prospect last month.

Hunt signs with Browns – Former Chiefs running back Kareem Hunt signed with the Cleveland Browns, the team announced Monday.

In two seasons with Kansas City, Hunt totaled 2,984 yards and 25 touchdowns. He finished his rookie season as the NFL's leading rusher with 1,327 yards.

Hunt was released by the Chiefs last November and remains on the Commissioner Exempt list.
