The Los Angeles Chargers signed second-round selection Nasir Adderley, the organization announced on Wednesday.
Adderley was a second-team Associated Press FCS All-American and first-team all-conference player in 2018. The 6-0 safety from Delaware garnered first-team All-CAA accolades in 2017 and the CAA coaches named him third-team all-conference in 2016.
In 2018, Adderley helped lead Delaware to its first FCS playoff appearance since reaching the FCS Championship Game in 2010. He recorded 86 tackles (48 solo), four interceptions and seven passes defensed while adding a forced fumble and a recovery. The 6-0 senior added five kick returns for 149 yards (29.8 avg.), including a 92-yarder that went for a touchdown.
Adderley set or tied single-game career highs this past season with performances of 13 tackles, two interceptions and four passes defensed. Adderley picked off five passes as a junior for 135 yards while recording a half-sack and forcing two fumbles. He added a 22-yard pick-six as a sophomore, giving him two career touchdowns. As a freshman, Adderley started all 11 games, one of just two true freshmen on the team.
