Military Hero of the Week: Sergeant Casey Littlefield 


Sergeant Casey Littlefield was born and raised in Salina, Oklahoma. He enlisted in the Marine Corps Infantry in 2002, as an Mortar-man with 1st Battalion, 5th Marines.

Sergeant Littlefield served as a Weapons company squad leader and deployed three times in support of Operation Iraqi Freedom. All three combat tours were to the Al Anbar Province, Iraq (Baghdad 2003, Fallujah 2004, and Ramadi 2005).

In 2014, Sergeant Littlefield participated in the First Battle of Fallujah, as a part Operation Vigilant Resolve. During the deployment, Sergeant Littlefield was awarded the Purple Heart for wounds received from enemy shrapnel and I.E.D. Blast. Also during the Battle, he was awarded the Marine Corps Commendation Medal with combat distinguishing device.

Sergeant Littlefield's other personal decorations include the Iraq Campaign Medal, Marine Corps Good Conduct Medal, Global War on Terrorism Service Medal, Global War on Terrorism Expeditionary Medal, National Defense Service Medal, Navy and Marine Corps Achievement Medal, Combat Action Ribbon, Sea Service Deployment Ribbon with 2 Gold Stars, and Navy Presidential Unit Citation.


The Military Hero of the Week presented by California Resources Corporation was created to acknowledge the heroic efforts and sacrifices made by our U.S. service members, veterans and their families. Each week of the Regular Season the Los Angeles Chargers will honor a Military Hero. The honored service member will receive four tickets to a Chargers home game where he or she will be recognized on-field.
