The Los Angeles Chargers signed wide receivers Malachi Dupre and Jordan Smallwood, the organization announced on Sunday. In corresponding moves, WR Dylan Cantrell and WR Fred Trevillion were waived/injured.
Dupre was originally a seventh-round selection by the Green Bay Packers in 2017. After practice squad stints with the Buffalo Bills, Houston Texans, and Seattle Seahawks, he saw his first NFL action with the Arizona Cardinals last season where he appeared in the final contest of the year. Dupre hauled in 98 passes for 1,609 yards and scored 14 touchdowns at LSU. 2015 was his most productive season when he caught 43 passes for 698 yards and found the endzone six times.
Smallwood was signed as an undrafted free agent by the Kansas City Chiefs in 2018 before being cut in September. He spent the season on the San Francisco 49ers practice squad. He most recently was with the Detroit Lions. Smallwood caught 18 passes for 170 yards and totaled three touchdowns at Oklahoma.
