Chargers On The Road: San Francisco

How to Get There:

San Francisco Airport: While this airport is a 40-minute drive from Levi Stadium, flying in here will have you closer to all the city's attractions, like the ones listed below.

San Jose Airport: Flying into San Jose will make your trip to the stadium quick – only a 12-minute ride! It's even easier if you use a rideshare service.


It's going be a cool 66 degrees for the high in the bay on Thursday, but be sure to bring a jacket – nights can get chilly!

What to Eat:

San Francisco is known for its seafood, so you definitely won't want to miss out on all the delicious eats at Fisherman's Wharf, including the famous flagship factory of Boudin Bakery.

For a refreshing after-game drink, head to Anchor Brewing. Founded in 1896, it is America's first craft brewery and the perfect place for a little taste of San Francisco.

If you're looking for the perfect pancake in the morning, Sears Fine Food is the place for you. A local institution since 1938, the restaurant has been visited by celebrities, locals and tourists alike, and is known for its Swedish pancakes.

Things to Do:

One of the city's biggest attractions is the former island prison, Alcatraz. Step back in time and take a tour of where high-profile criminals like Al Capone were held.

Jump on a cable car to take in the sights and sounds of the city in an easy way. One cable car line to take starts at Powell and Market streets, and passes through the famous twisty road, Lombard Street.

For the best Instagram picture to document your vacation, you'll want to stop by Golden Gate Overlook in the Presidio. The area offers fantastic views of the iconic Golden Gate Bridge, as well as a relaxing area to enjoy the afternoon.

Looking for San Francisco's equivalent to New York's Central Park? Take a stroll through Golden Gate Park, which features a variety of trails, picnic spots, the Japanese Tea Garden and the Conservatory of Flowers.

You can't visit SF without making a stop at Ghirardelli Square, which houses the original Ghirardelli Chocolate Factory as well as multiple other shops and restaurants. Grab one of Ghirardelli's delicious sundaes for a sweet afternoon treat and be sure to pick up some chocolate for the trip home!
