Chargers Announce Roster Moves

The Los Angeles Chargers signed CB Dontae Johnson and placed CB Trevor Williams on injured reserve, the organization announced on Wednesday. The Chargers also made a number of practice squad moves.

Johnson spent four seasons with San Francisco after being selected by the 49ers in the fourth round of the 2014 NFL Draft. In 64 career games, with 22 starts, he totaled 140 tackles (120 solo), 21 passes defensed and two interceptions, returning both picks for touchdowns. Johnson added three tackles for loss and a pair of fumble recoveries. The Pennington, N.J., native started all 16 games in 2017 for San Francisco, recording 76 tackles (68 solo), seven passes defensed, two tackles for loss and a 50-yard pick-six.

After his time in San Francisco, Johnson spent time in Seattle before appearing in one game last season with Buffalo. Following his time with the Bills, Johnson was also with Arizona.
