The Chargers began supporting the Bikes for Kids Foundation in 2003. Bikes for Kids provides new bicycles and helmets to under-served second and third grade children during the holiday season to help them develop pride, responsibility and a strong sense of community, as well as to encourage their academic, physical and social growth. As of 2019, the Chargers have provided nearly 3,000 new bikes and helmets to deserving kids in the San Diego and Los Angeles area.
