Bio

A former third-round pick of the Cincinnati Bengals, Ghee joined the Chargers in March and will compete for time in the secondary and on special teams.

Ghee (pronounced “Jee”) saw limited time his first two seasons before missing all of 2012 with a wrist injury. He returned last season and played in 10 games for the Bengals. He now seeks a fresh start in San Diego.

Ghee was a military brat who was born in Wiesbaden, Germany while his dad, Wayne, served as a Warrant Officer in the Army. Growing up, Ghee lived in Germany, Louisiana, Texas, Tennessee and North Carolina. His father, now retired, works for Lockheed-Martin, while his mom, Carol, worked for Proctor & Gamble. His father’s career in the military has spurred Ghee to lend his time to the Wounded Warrior Project.

Ghee and his brother, Patrick, were college teammates for a year at Wake Forest. Patrick spent time in the NFL with Seattle and is now a computer engineer. Brandon, meanwhile, is studying for the GMAT, the graduate school entrance exam required to earn a MBA. As an undergrad, Brandon studied communications with a minor in theology.

Ghee enjoys spending time with his two children, Jace and Ariana. He also enjoys hunting and riding jet skis.
