Bio

The Chargers used their second-round pick on Kendall Reyes from Connecticut, a versatile player who lined up at all positions along the defensive line for the Huskies. Reyes was a two-year team captain and a two-time first-team All-Big East Conference pick. As a senior in 2011, he was named to a long list of postseason award watch lists, including the Lombardi Award and the Outland Trophy.

Reyes was one of the quickest players to come out of the Big East Conference and he really impressed NFL coaches and scouts during practices in the week leading up to the 2012 Senior Bowl. Reyes started games at both strong and weak-side defensive tackle at Connecticut as well as strong-side defensive end. By career’s end, Reyes had tallied the 10th-most tackles for loss in school history (32.5) and he’d intercepted two passes, returning one for 79 yards in 2010 that was the seventh-longest in the UConn record books.

Reyes is from Nashua, N.H., where he scored the first-ever touchdown in Nashua North High School’s history, he became the first NFL draft pick in school history and the first player from Nashua to be drafted into the NFL in 14 years.
