Bio

Green (6-2, 316) is a four-year offensive guard-tackle in his fourth year with the Chargers.

The door of opportunity has swung open for Tyronne Green. With the offseason retirement of left guard Kris Dielman, the former fourth-round draft pick will compete for the starting spot on a permanent basis. Last year after Dielman was injured, Green started eight of the final 10 games despite suffering from a painful broken finger.   During his first three seasons, Green has seen time at both right and left guard, while also playing a role on special teams. During training camp and offseason practices, Green has also taken reps at center and tackle. The jockeying of positions though is something Green is used to. He is a converted defensive tackle who played both center and guard at Auburn. Green’s hobbies include singing, bowling, watching movies and playing cards.

Tyronne Green filled in at both right and left guard, while also playing a role on special teams in 2010, after practicing at center, guard and tackle during offseason workouts and training camp. Green started a total of seven games during which the Chargers went 5-2, and he was in the starting lineup for the team’s two best rushing performances of the year, a 207-yard effort against Kansas City in December and a 180-yard effort against Arizona in October.

Green is a converted defensive tackle who played both center and guard at Auburn. One of his teammates with the Tigers was Chargers left tackle Marcus McNeill. Green’s proudest moment from college was graduating with a degree in criminology.
His hobbies include singing, bowling, watching movies and playing cards.
