Bio

Dombrowski (6-5, 323) is a three-year offensive guard/tackle in his third year with the Chargers. He started in Weeks 1-5 and played in all 16 games in 2010.

Versatility has been a trademark strength for Brandyn Dombrowski in San Diego.

A year after starting two games at right guard and seven at right tackle in his first full NFL season, Dombrowski was asked to open the 2010 season at left tackle while the Chargers were without the services of Marcus McNeill.

Dombrowski started the first five games, protecting Philip Rivers’ blind side. The Chargers performed well with Dombrowski in the starting lineup, yielding just 11 sacks and rushing for 126 yards a game, including 151 in a win over Jacksonville and 180 in a win over Arizona. Dombrowski grew up in Henderson, Nev., and played collegiately at San Diego State. His father, Ken, is a former defensive tackle who played for the the Canadian Football League’s Hamilton Tiger Cats and Calgary Stampeders, as well as the USFL’s Pittsburgh Maulers.

Since joining the Chargers, Dombrowski has supported efforts to assist the local military. He’s joined Kris Dielman at several events benefitting the Marine Corps-Law Enforcement Foundation (MCLEF), and last November he helped pass out Thanksgiving turkeys to military families from the Armed Forces YMCA in San Diego. Dombrowski also cohosted a bowling event to help raise funds to purchase new helmets for the kids who compete in the Alpine Pop Warner Football League. Alpine is a suburb east of San Diego.
