In the sixth round of the 2017 NFL Draft, the Chargers selected tackle Sam Tevi (Tevv-ee) out of Utah.
Tevi started his career as a defensive tackle before earning the starting nod for the Utes on the offensive line.
Started all 13 games at left tackle in 2015 and 11 games at right tackle in 2016. Lettered as a true freshman, finding time on special teams and along the defensive line where he recorded nine tackles, two for a loss and a sack.
Was named to the 2012 Star-Telegram Super Team second-team defense. His senior season he recorded 56 tackles, 3.0 sacks, 8.0 TFLs. Earned four letters in football, three in track and two in basketball Tevi also played volleyball. Earned his degree in sociology.
