Bronx-raised and Princeton-educated, Caraun Reid was a solid pickup for the Chargers in 2016 after the former fifth-round pick was waived by Detroit.
Reid joined the Chargers just before the team’s 2016 season opener and quickly became a valuable reserve. He appeared in San Diego’s first seven games and was doing a solid job filling up every column on the team’s defensive statistics sheet until suffering a knee injury in week seven when he collided with teammate Denzel Perryman.
Reid spent the remainder of the year on injured reserve, but he’s healthy and looking forward to a productive 2017 season.
Reid has two career fumble returns for touchdowns, including a 61-yarder for the Chargers during a game last season at Indianapolis. It was the eighth-longest fumble return in franchise history.
