Stephens assists Jeff Hurd with all aspects of the Chargers' strength and conditioning program. A native of Jacksonville Florida, he graduated from Stanton College Prep before earning a Health and Exercise Science bachelor’s degree from North Florida University.
Stephens assists Jeff Hurd with all aspects of the Chargers' strength and conditioning program. A native of Jacksonville Florida, he graduated from Stanton College Prep before earning a Health and Exercise Science bachelor’s degree from North Florida University.
He was the head strength and conditioning coach at the University of North Florida from 1999-03, where he actually started the school’s program. Stephens also worked with the Jacksonville Jaguars strength and conditioning staff during the offseasons in 2002 and ’03. He also was an assistant speed, and strength and conditioning coach at Colorado from 2003-07, working with the football, basketball, track and field, and cross-country teams.
Stephens is nationally certified through the NSCA, CSCCA, NASM, and USAW.
Stephens and his wife, Tali, have a son and a daughter and reside in San Diego.
