D’Anton Lynn joins the Chargers as a defensive assistant after spending two seasons (2015-16) in the same capacity in Buffalo.
A native of Plano, Texas, Lynn played cornerback at Penn State (2008-11) where he was a three-time honorable mention All-Big Ten selection. In 2012, Lynn signed with the New York Jets as an undrafted free agent and spent time in their training camp in 2012. In 2013, he played for the Canadian Football League’s Hamilton Tiger-Cats.
Lynn transitioned into football administration with the Jets in 2013, spending one season (2013) in their scouting department and a second (2014) as a coaching staff seasonal intern.
The son of Chargers Head Coach Anthony Lynn, D’Anton joined his father in Buffalo in 2015, spending two seasons as the Bills’ defensive assistant. In 2016, the Bills owned the NFL’s sixth-ranked pass defense. In his first season in Buffalo in 2015, the Bills held their opponents to the third-lowest completion percentage while racking up the sixth-most interceptions.
