Jeff Hurd has more than 25 years of experience in the field of strength and conditioning. He oversees the team’s off-season conditioning programs, which emphasize strength improvement and cardiovascular endurance while enhancing speed and flexibility. He also supervises the club’s in-season training regimen, designed to maintain the off-season gains.
Hurd was born in Pomona, Calif. He played baseball at Imperial Valley Junior College in El Centro, Calif. and Fort Hays State in Hays, Kan. He graduated with bachelor’s and master’s degrees in physical education from Fort Hays State.
Hurd and wife Kathy have two sons, Eric and Austin, and a daughter, Audra. Eric will be a junior at UCLA in the Fall. He worked with the Chargers’ equipment staff during the 2011 season.
