A former NFL Europe, XFL and Arena League wide receiver and defensive back, Greg Williams now shares his coaching expertise with the team’s linebacking corps. A key cog in the Chargers’ 3-4 defensive scheme, a linebacker has led the team in tackles and sacks each of Williams’ seasons with the team, including 2011 when Takeo Spikes led the team in tackles and Antwan Barnes led in sacks. Williams will continue to work closely with new defensive coordinator John Pagano and new linebackers coach Joe Barry.
A native of Bolingbrook, Ill., Williams graduated from Bolingbrook High before moving on to the University of North Carolina where he excelled as a wide receiver and defensive back.
