Bio

Grimm joined the Chargers after spending the last four seasons as an offensive quality control coach with the Arizona Cardinals.

A native of Fairfax, Va., Grimm played in 16 games as a backup linebacker and special teams player at Virginia Tech from 2003-06. He graduated with a degree in apparel, housing and resource management.

Grimm is a second-generation NFL coach. His father, Russ, was a Hall of Fame offensive lineman with the Washington Redskins from 1981-91 and spent 21 years as an assistant coach in Washington, Pittsburgh and Arizona. His brother, Cody, also played at Virginia Tech and was a seventh-round draft pick by Tampa Bay in in 2010 who played safety for the Buccaneers from 2010-12.

Grimm played both football and lacrosse at Oakton High School in Vienna, Va. An outside linebacker in football and an all-district lacrosse player,, he helped Oakton reach the state finals in both sports for the first time in school history.
