Bio

Grimm joined the Chargers after spending the last four seasons as an offensive quality control coach with the Arizona Cardinals.           

A native of Fairfax, Va., Grimm played in 16 games as a backup linebacker and special teams player at Virginia Tech from 2003-06.              

Grimm is a second-generation NFL coach. His father, Russ, was a Hall of Fame offensive lineman with the Washington Redskins from 1981-91 and spent the last 21 years as an assistant coach in Washington, Pittsburgh and Arizona. His brother, Cody, also played at Virginia Tech and was a seventh-round draft pick by Tampa Bay in in 2010 who still plays safety for the Buccaneers.      

Grimm was an outside linebacker and long snapper at Oakton High School in Vienna, Virginia. He also earned all-district honors while playing for the school’s state championship lacrosse team. Grimm graduated from Virginia Tech with a degree in apparel, housing and resource management.
