Bio

A California native and former fullback and special teams standout with the Tampa Bay Buccaneers, Storer moves into the role of assistant linebackers coach in 2013 after spending the 2012 season as a special teams assistant.

Return specialist Micheal Spurlock closed out ’12 in spectacular fashion with punt and kickoff return touchdowns against the New York Jets and Oakland Raiders in the Chargers’ final two games. It marked the first time in team history a player returned a punt and a kickoff for scores in successive weeks. The Chargers coverage teams were also outstanding in 2012 as Mike Scifres posted a 40.6-yard net average, second in team history, and the Chargers’ kickoff coverage ranked third in the league for opponent’s average drive start.

Storer came to the Chargers from Tampa Bay, where he spent two seasons as the Buccaneers’ assistant special teams coach after concluding a three-year playing career. From 2007-09, Storer played in 16 games for the Buccaneers while making six starts.

A native of Modesto, Calif., Storer played linebacker and fullback at Catholic High. He attended the University of California where he was a three-time All-Pac-10 special teams performer, who also played fullback. Storer earned a degree in mass communications.

Storer is married, Ashley.
