Bio

In his first season in San Diego working with Joe D’Alessandris, Dees helped shape an offensive line that allowed just 30 sacks during the regular season, tied with Chicago for fourth-fewest in the league, along with only 150 yards in losses, which was the second-lowest total in the NFL.

A native of Babylon, N.Y., Dees played tight end and offensive tackle, and he was a team captain at Syracuse, where he earned a degree in child and family studies. He took part in the NFL’s Minority Fellowship Internship Program, spending time working in camps with Buffalo (2000), Miami (2004), Pittsburgh (2005), New Orleans (2006) and Philadelphia (2007). He also spent time as a player with both the Cincinnati Bengals (1992) and Seattle Seahawks (1993), but did not appear in any games.

Dees originally entered the coaching field as the offensive and defensive line coach at St. John the Baptist High School in West Islip, N.Y. in 1996. He moved up to the college ranks at Wagner College in ’97 and spent the 1997-11 seasons in college football. Dees landed his first full-time job with Buffalo in 2012, where he originally worked alongside D’Alessandris.

Dees and his wife, Kimberly, have a son, Drew, and a daughter, Kara.
