Tonya has been an NFL cheerleader for seven years. She is currently in her 2nd season with the San Diego Charger Girls and enjoying her first year as a team captain. Her favorite thing about being a member of the Charger Girls team is participating in the numerous events that the organization is involved with that aim to support the military and their families. Tonya enjoys being an active member of her community and supporting the large military population in San Diego. She resides in Ocean Beach where she became a San Diego homeowner in 2008. She currently serves as president of her Homeowners’ Association. Tonya graduated Summa Cum Laude from Kaplan University where she received her Bachelor of Science in Information Technology with an emphasis in Web Development. She currently owns her own Web Development and Graphic Design company and is pursuing a Master of Science in Acquisition and Contract Management. She looks forward to one day working in Acquisition for either the Federal Government or a Defense Contractor where she can utilize her skills to support her country. She co-owns and directs a non-profit organization that is comprised of former NFL cheerleaders that want to continue their involvement in entertaining and supporting our troops. The development of this organization came from her experiences as an NFL cheerleader performing for the troops in fourteen overseas tours to over twenty countries including Egypt, Iraq, Afghanistan and Cuba. She recently toured in Japan, Guam and Hawaii with twelve of her Charger Girls teammates in February 2009 where she performed for troops during Super Bowl XLIII. When Tonya is not working or volunteering her time to her community she likes to spend time at the beach with her family, friends and Duke, her 6 year old Boxer.
