Wilhelm signs contract

The San Diego Chargers retained the last of its restricted free agents when linebacker Matt Wilhelm today signed the one-year contract tendered by the team in early March.
The 6-4, 245-pound Wilhelm played in all 16 games in 2005. He finished the season with 16 tackles, one sack and one interception. Wilhelm is also an outstanding special teams player, who last season tied for third on the team with 15 tackles on the specialty units.
