Key information for fans attending games at Qualcomm Stadium:
Kick-off: 1:40 PM PST
- Umbrellas are not allowed inside the stadium. Fans are suggested to bring ponchos or raincoats in case of bad weather.
- The parking lot opens at 9:00 AM and is expected to fill and close by 11:00 AM. Vehicles with pre-purchased parking permits can enter the parking lot at 8:00 AM.
- If driving, please research alternative traffic routes. Interstate 15 is the most congested traffic route to Qualcomm Stadium.
- Carpool and arrive early or take the San Diego Trolley (www.sdcommute.com).
- The MTS Chargers Express Bus is available from five convenient Park & Ride locations in San Diego. Visit www.sdmts.com for more information.
- Fans in North County can take the Go Chargers North County Express Coach with coastal and inland departure routes.
- For fans coming from Orange and Los Angeles counties, take the Amtrak Pacific Surfliner with transfers to the stadium via the San Diego Trolley from Old Town.
- Glass bottles and containers are not allowed inside the stadium parking lot.
- If you are picking up tickets at will call, please do not hesitate to pick up your tickets upon arrival at the stadium. Very long will call lines are expected. Pick up your tickets before starting your tailgate party. Chargers Will Call at Window C is open at 9:00 AM.
- Entrance gates to the stadium will open at 10:30 AM for all Luxury Seating ticket holders at Gates B & H. All other gates will open for general admission at 11:30 AM (Gate K will remain closed).
- Get to the entry gates by 12:30 PM in preparation for bag inspection and search procedures. Every fan entering Qualcomm Stadium will be subject to a “pat-down” search in an effort to assure a safe and enjoyable game-day experience.
- At the gates, all tickets are scanned to ease entry and deter counterfeit tickets.
- Per City of San Diego ordinance, Qualcomm Stadium is a smoke-free facility. Smoking is not allowed inside the stadium.
- Fans can pledge to be a designated driver for each home game at locations inside the Chargers Power Party, near Elevators 1, 2, 4 and at Ramp P. Fans don’t let fans drive drunk.

Transportation to the Game
Special $5 Playoff Commemorative Transit Day Passes are now available at the Chargers Team Store at Qualcomm Stadium, Gate G and the MTS Transit Store at downtown. The Day Pass is valid on Jan. 17 for one day of unlimited riding on all MTS Trolley lines. Customers taking the Trolley are encouraged to buy $5 Day Passes before boarding the Trolley on their way to their event in order to save time and avoid ticket lines. For people arriving early to Qualcomm Stadium, visit the FREE San Diego Chargers Power Party at section F2 of the parking lot. It features live bands, large-screen TVs broadcasting the early game, and great food and beverages. The party is appropriate for all ages.
MTS Chargers Express Bus
The San Diego Metropolitan Transit System (MTS) will continue its popular Chargers Express service for the 2009 season. Special MTS Chargers Express buses whisk fans in and out of the stadium with no traffic or parking hassle (the buses have a dedicated entrance for quick entry and exit)! Enjoy a stress-free commute to most regular season home games on the MTS Chargers Express buses.
MTS Chargers Express buses will operate from five convenient locations:
- Spring Street Trolley Station (north of Hwy 94 on Spring Street)
- Governor Dr. & Hwy 805 Park & Ride
- Kearny Mesa Traffic Court (Clairemont Mesa Blvd and Complex Street)
- Mira Mesa Park & Ride (I-15 & Mira Mesa Blvd.)
- Chula Vista High School (820 4th Ave.) at the "K" St. parking lot
Boarding starts two hours before game time; last bus leaves 45 minutes before game time. Buses depart stadium 20 minutes after game ends. Buy your $10 round-trip when you board the bus. Exact change is required. For more information call 5-1-1 or visit www.sdmts.com
Go Chargers North County Express Coach
Football fans residing in Oceanside, Carlsbad, Encinitas and Escondido will be able to board local charter buses arranged by SEAT Planners at the same locations used by North County Transit District. The new service will use buses with reclining seats and other comfortable amenities well-suited for highway travel for all Chargers home games.

Buses depart the stadium 30 minutes after the conclusion of the game. Round-trip fare is $25 and tickets must be purchased in advance. Go to http://ticketderby.com to purchase tickets.
All purchases are final. Persons who have impaired mobility that require special transportation accommodations are welcome by providing advance notice by either calling 619.921.5011 or sending an email to: chargersnorthcountyexpress@seatplanners.com at least 24 hours in advance and providing contact information.
The San Diego Trolley
The San Diego Trolley is the number-one mode of transportation to the stadium. Fans can ride the Trolley on the Green Line between Old Town and Santee before and after all games. Charger fans will have increased options along the Green Line from the East County, including:
· El Cajon Transit Center (Main St. at Marshall)
· Grossmont Transit Center (8601 Fletcher Parkway at Grossmont Center Dr.)
· Grantville (I-8 at Mission Gorge)
Fans can also pick up the Trolley at:
· Hazard Center (parking is free on Hazard Center’s lower level, corner of Friars Road and Frazee)
· Old Town Transit Center (Pacific Highway at Taylor Street)
The Green Line begins running three hours before kickoff. Buy a $5 Day Tripper pass at ticket vending machines before boarding. Day Tripper passes are also sold in advance at The Transit Store at 1st and Broadway or by visiting the eStore at www.sdmts.com. Amtrak Chargers Express
Book your trip online at Amtrak.com or at staffed Amtrak stations and make round-trip reservations to Old Town. Use code V721 to receive rail fare on Amtrak, plus a direct stadium transfer on the San Diego Trolley. Simply show the trolley operator your Amtrak ticket stub with Old Town as the origin or destination station. Eligible Amtrak departure stations are Los Angeles, Fullerton, Anaheim, Santa Ana, Irvine, San Juan Capistrano, Oceanside, and Solana Beach. Please note this offer cannot be booked via telephone.
Fans should take trains 768 (arrives Old Town at approximately 12:20pm) or trains 774 (arrives Old Town at approximately 3:00pm) or trains 578 (arrives Old Town at approximately 4:40pm) and plan on returning via train 587,591, 595 or 597. Train 597 will hold at station Old Town Transit Center 1 hour after the game is over or until 10:00 pm, whichever comes first. (See official timetable)
Driving to the Game
For fans that must drive to the stadium, they are urged to carpool and arrive early. We strongly encourage fans to arrive at least two hours before game time. As usual, there will be heavy congestion around the stadium and avoid the congestion on Interstate 15 South. Fans traveling south to the stadium are recommended to take 163 South to Friars Road East, or take Interstate 8 to Qualcomm Way which also leads to Friars Road East.
The stadium parking lot opens four hours prior to kickoff. Vehicles with pre-purchased parking permits can enter the parking lot five hours prior to kickoff. The parking lot can be expected to reach capacity and close an hour or more before kickoff.
Overflow parking will be available at the Chicago Title building (corner of Friars Road and Northside Drive), San Diego State University, Mission Valley Marriott Hotel and the Town and Country Hotel. Overflow lots vary in price.
With the parking lot expected to fill early, fans are reminded that tailgating is allowed only in their own parking space. Police will issue citations to fans whose tailgate parties infringe on neighboring parking spaces or parties which block sidewalk and pedestrian areas. Fans are also reminded that glass bottles are not allowed in the parking lot.
Entering the Stadium
All gates to the stadium will open at 11:30 AM. Club and Suite ticket holders can still enter at specially designated entrances at Gates B & H at 10:30 AM. In order to be in their seats in time for the 1:40 PM kickoff, fans should arrive at the stadium gates by 12:30 PM.
Gameday…The Right Way!
The Chargers are committed to creating a safe, comfortable, and enjoyable experience for all fans, both in the stadium and in the parking lot. We want all fans attending our games to enjoy the experience in a responsible fashion.
Fans who demonstrate inappropriate and disruptive behavior, including the following, are subject to ejection and season ticket holders risk losing their season ticket account and/or parking privileges for:
- Excessive consumption of alcohol
- Obscene, offensive or abusive language or actions
- Fighting, or otherwise dangerous, abusive or profane behavior
- Unruly or inconsiderate behavior
- Indecent exposure or undressing
- Wearing obscene or indecent clothing
- Smoking inside the stadium
- Scalping or other improper resale of tickets
- Interfering with security procedures
- Interfering with the progress of the game, going onto the field or throwing any object onto the field or on the stadium premises.
- Any action warranting eviction and/or confiscation of game tickets by SDPD or stadium security.
Event patrons are responsible for their conduct as well as the conduct of their guests and/or persons using their tickets. Even if season ticket holders give away or sell their tickets to a game, the account holder is accountable for the actions of those using the tickets. Accounts can be forfeited partially or entirely for violations of the Code of Conduct.
Event patrons and guests will be subject to ejection without refund and potential loss of ticket privileges for future games for violations of the Code of Conduct.

No Smoking
As per San Diego Municipal Code, Qualcomm Stadium is a smoke-free facility. Smoking is prohibited inside all areas of Qualcomm Stadium. There are no longer designated smoking areas inside the stadium. Fans who continue to smoke inside the stadium will be subject to fines and ejection.
