Chargers claim Spurlock, waive Brinkley

The Chargers claim WR Micheal Spurlock and waive RB Curtis Brinkley

The Chargers have claimed wide receiver and kick returner Michael Spurlock off waivers from Jacksonville.  The team waived running back Curtis Brinkley to make room for Spurlock on the active roster.

The 5-11, 210-pound Spurlock originally signed with the Chargers in April and he played in the Bolts’ first four games before being released on Oct. 3 when the Chargers signed Chris Carr. Spurlock later signed with Jacksonville, where he remained until being waived on Tuesday. Prior to his release with the Chargers, Spurlock had one punt return and a special teams tackle.

Brinkley played in seven games this season with one start at running back. He rushed 29 times for 60 yards, caught nine passes for 63 yards and returned four kickoffs for 86 yards.
