Chargers, Battle Agree on One-Year Contract

The San Diego Chargers agreed on a one-year contract with running back Jackie Battle on Friday.

Battle joins the Chargers after spending the last five seasons with the Kansas City Chiefs.

The 6-2, 238-pound runner and special teams standout came to the NFL and the Chiefs as an undrafted rookie free agent in 2007 out of the University of Houston. In 2011 he made significant contributions as a ball carrier. He rushed for 597 yards and two touchdowns on 149 carries in 2011, also adding nine receptions for 68 yards. Battle has rushed for 715 yards and four touchdowns on 190 carries during his NFL career.
