The San Diego Chargers finished the 2012 season strong, winning three of their last four games - including road wins over the Pittsburgh Steelers and New York Jets - to finish in second place in the AFC West. The Chargers went 4-2 in the division and claimed their seventh-straight first or second-place finish in the AFC West, a stretch that includes four division titles and three second-place finishes.
The Chargers’ final 2012 record was just 7-9 and on Dec. 31, President Dean Spanos announced that Head Coach Norv Turner and General Manager A.J. Smith would not return for the 2013 season.
