The San Diego Chargers placed wide receiver ![]()
A rule change in 2012 allows each team to name one player with a “major injury” on the Reserve-Injured list as eligible to be reactivated at a later time that season. A “major injury” is defined as any injury rendering a player unable to practice or play football for at least six weeks from the date of the injury.
Brown, who broke his ankle on August 18, may begin practicing with the team after the sixth week of the season and may return to the active roster anytime after the eighth week. Under the old rules, no players were allowed to return to the active roster after they were placed on Reserve-Injured. The Bolts will designate the second-year receiver as the one player eligible to be activated off the list and hope to have him back at some point during the second half of the season.
