Chargers Most Valuable Player LaDainian Tomlinson will not play in the NFL’s Pro Bowl All-Star game in Hawaii on February 10 due to a second-degree sprain of the medial collateral ligament in his left knee.
Tomlinson hyper-extended his knee in the team’s AFC Divisional playoff win against the Indianapolis Colts on Sunday, January 13 and re-injured the knee in the AFC Championship Game in New England. The rehab period on the injury is expected to be six weeks.
Baltimore Ravens running back Willis McGahee will replace the injured Tomlinson.
This is the fifth year that Tomlinson has been voted to play in the Pro Bowl and the first All-Star contest he will miss.
