Chargers Head Coach Norv Turner won two Super Bowl rings as the offensive coordinator of the Dallas Cowboys. Dallas Head Coach Wade Phillips had a key role in helping the Chargers get things turned around during his three seasons as the Bolts’ defensive coordinator.

The two head coaches will face their former teams in the 2008 preseason opener, the Chargers learned today.

The Chargers’ 2008 preseason schedule will kickoff against the Cowboys at Qualcomm Stadium on Saturday Aug. 9 as Terrell Owens, Tony Romo and company visit San Diego. Exact kickoff time will be announced at a later date.

Like they did a year ago, the Bolts will travel to St. Louis in the second weekend of preseason play (Aug. 15-17) to meet the Rams at the Edward Jones Dome. The exact date and time are yet to be determined.

The third week of the preseason will put the Chargers and San Diego on national television when they host former AFC West rival Seattle in a Monday Night Football contest on ESPN. The game is scheduled for Monday, Aug. 25. This will mark the third-consecutive year in which Mike Holmgren’s Seahawks visit Qualcomm Stadium.

The Bolts will wrap up their preseason slate against the 49ers in San Francisco on Friday, Aug. 29.
