When the Chargers host the Giants on Sunday, Tony Siragusa will be roaming the sidelines of Qualcomm Stadium giving his unique perspective from the field.
Prior to the big game, we checked in with the former Super Bowl winner to get his thoughts on the match.
“I think pressure for both teams is important. Eli has been a little inconsistent with pressure in his face, and that’s going to be a challenge for San Diego. Being able to get a pass rush will really help them. If they have to go and bring six to get a pass rush, I’d do that. But then it could hurt them on the backside if they have to play man to man. So I think that’s a key for San Diego.
Two guys to watch out for I think are (Antonio) Gates and (Danny) Woodhead. Gates is a mismatch for the Giants linebackers. I don’t know if they are great covering a guy like Gates. Their conference has some good tight ends, but I think Antonio is at a next level so I think that’s a guy the Giants are going to have to shut down. And Woodhead, I want to see how he lines up and how the Giants line up with him. I would think that would be a mismatch for Chargers also. He does throw his body in there and make some big blocks, but getting him the ball and getting him in space I think is another key for San Diego. I also like the way Gates and Woodhead play off each other.”
