The Chargers have added Byron Storer to the coaching staff as a special teams assistant.
Storer joins the Chargers from Tampa Bay, where he spent two seasons as the Buccaneers' assistant special teams coach and three seasons (2007-09) as a fullback and special teams standout. In San Diego, Storer will be reunited with assistant head coach-special teams Rich Bisaccia, with whom Storer played and coached in Tampa Bay.
Storer played in 16 games for the Bucs, starting six.
A Modesto, Calif., native, the 27-year-old Storer attended the University of California and became a three-time All-Pac-10 fullback.
