Season Ticket Member Will Announce Draft Pick

Posted Apr 15, 2014

Longtime fan and Season Ticket Member Joe Patrico will announce the Chargers fourth round selection in the 2014 NFL Draft.

There are plenty of rewards and benefits that come with being a Chargers Season Ticket Member.  Joe Patrico, a long time Chargers’ fan and Season Ticket Member, was surprised Tuesday with the opportunity of a lifetime as he will fly to the NFL Draft to announce the San Diego Chargers fourth round draft pick.

“I was sitting at an office birthday lunch, and some people walked in with cameras and balloons and told me I’m going to the draft,” he said.  “I get to announce the fourth round pick….I’m thrilled.  I’m so excited.  This is something I never even thought about, but it’s really exciting here.  It’s a once in a lifetime opportunity.”

Patrico has been present at a number of seminal Chargers moments in the past, so the opportunity to announce to the world a future Bolt is especially meaningful for him.

“I’ve been a fan of the Chargers since I can remember,” he said.  “My first memory is the Holy Roller game.  In 1995, when I was a first time season ticket holder with my brother-in-law, my wife and I got pulled in the lottery to go to the Super Bowl so we went.  My wife was pregnant with our daughter, (but) we went to that game and had a great time.”

Even though he was a Season Ticket Member in the 1990’s, Patrico had to give them up while he went to law school.  However, after he finished and became an attorney he was sure to once again purchase season tickets to root on his Bolts each and every Sunday.

“Since I’ve been a season ticket holder they’ve always done really nice events,” he said.  “This is a just really unusual, really neat thing that they’ve done.”

For the chance to win a once-in-a-lifetime opportunity like Patrico and have access to special perks, it’s not too late to become a Chargers Season Ticket Member for the 2014 Season.
