Season Ticket Holder Wins Opportunity of a Lifetime

Posted Apr 26, 2013

One lucky season ticket holder won a trip to the NFL Draft in New York City to announce the Chargers' fourth round pick.

Over 500 season ticket holders along with the Chargers own Donald Butler, Darrell Stuckey and Nick Novak downtown last night at Block 16 for a special club seat holder draft party hosted by the Chargers, where one lucky woman won the opportunity of a lifetime.

In front of a hushed crowd, Maribel Schoonover, a season ticket holder since 2007, was chosen as  the winner of a trip to New York City on Saturday to announce  the Chargers’ 4th round draft selection at  Radio City Music Hall. The prize is just one of many eligible rewards that come with being a Chargers season ticket holder.

“I’m so excited!” Schoonover said moments after learning she’d be heading to the Big Apple. “My stomach hurts and I can’t believe that I’m going.  I’m just thrilled.”

Schoonover giddily came up to the stage and was greeted by Butler, who hugged and congratulated her.

“I’m lost for words,” she said. “I really don’t know what to say.  I’m really so excited and (hopefully) we’ll have good luck making the fourth round pick.”

The other highlight of the night was the Chargers making their first round draft pick of DJ Fluker.  As soon NFL Commissioner Roger Goodell announced his name on the giant screen, confetti rained down on the crowd who cheered and screamed “FLUUUUUUKE.”
