The Chargers quarterback threw four interceptions and had two fumbles for a total of six turnovers. Both the picks and total turnovers were career-highs.

“It was mostly just poor throws,” said Rivers. “I wasn’t fooled out there once today. The first interception, I didn’t see exactly how it ended. I knew I gave Gates a chance down there and they ended up with it. The other ones were bad throws. There’s really no other reason for them.”
Two of River’s turnovers went for scores for the Broncos, as Tony Carter returned a fumble for a 65-yard touchdown and Chris Harris had a 46-yard pick six. To his credit, Rivers accepted responsibility for his mistakes. He took the loss hard and to heart.
“Every loss hurts,” he said. “Regardless of what negative or bad plays (I made), or how you lose a game, when you lose a game, it’s rough. Especially a game when you had such a big lead. So much was at stake for an early in the year division game. It’s not the way we want to go into the bye week. Certainly, it’s not the way I, and we, wanted to perform. We’re 3-3, you regroup, and get ready to go.”
Rivers is set to address the media tomorrow later this week. How he regroups after sleeping on his performance will say a lot about the make-up of the Chargers quarterback.
