We continue the series with a scouting report of Florida defensive tackle Sharrif Floyd.

Sharrif Floyd’s statistics over his three-year career as a Florida Gator can be described as pedestrian.
His raw talent, however, is anything but.
Floyd’s shown flashes of brilliance many times over his career, and as soon as he is able to harness it all into one complete package, he has the ability to be one of the elite defensive tackles in the NFL.
As a junior, the 6-foot-3, 297-pound Floyd was an integral part of one of the elite defenses in college football. He garnered third-team All American honors by recording 41 tackles and one sack. Floyd is not only blessed with elite athleticism for someone of his size, he possesses impressive brute strength. Combined with a high motor and a nasty demeanor on the field, Floyd is a terror along the defensive line and is an ideal fit in either a 4-3 or 3-4 defense.
At this point, Floyd is stronger against the run than he is vs. the pass. He plugs the hole and is hard to move once he engages with the blocker. In the passing game, however, he lacks the closing speed to be a constant force in pressuring the quarterback.
Nonetheless, Floyd possesses the overall elite skillset for a defensive tackle that every team covets. As a result, many scouts project Floyd to be one of the major impact players entering this April’s NFL draft, and some see him easily being selected among the first five picks.
