Arthur Brown began his collegiate career at the University of Miami.  After two years in which he played sparingly, he decided to transfer to Kansas State.  It turned out to be a wise decision as Brown had two outstanding seasons for the Wildcats and is now primed to be an early round draft choice.

After being forced to sit out the season after the transfer, the linebacker made an immediate impact his first year in 2011.  He was named a team captain and rewarded that honor by recording 101 tackles, including 9.5 for a loss, two sacks and an interception.  In the process he was named the Big 12 Defensive Newcomer of the Year as well as a first team all-conference selection. He kept up his strong play last season, notching 100 tackles, seven for a loss, one sack, two interceptions and four passes defensed.

Brown is a versatile athlete able to play both inside and outside linebacker positions. A very heady player, he is able to diagnose plays and relies on excellent instincts. He is outstanding against the run with superb sideline-to-sideline range.  Brown is also a dependable wrap up tackler who uses his body well to bring the ball-carrier to the ground.  On the flip side, he lacks ideal size for a linebacker and needs to improve his core strength even though he is a powerful hitter.

Due to a shoulder injury, Brown did not play in the Senior Bowl and skipped the vast majority of drills at the combine. Nonetheless, that won’t stop a team from making him a selection on draft night, most likely at the beginning of the second day.
