Past Charger Standout Performances at Senior Bowl

Here is a list of some of the top performances by future Bolts at the Senior Bowl.


The 2014 Senior Bowl is underway in Alabama.  The event has seen some impressive performances by future Chargers in the past, so here is a list of some of the most memorable moments.

2001

LaDainian Tomlinson – San Diego’s all-time leader in touchdowns, Tomlinson was named MVP of the 2001 Senior Bowl.  The dynamic rusher ran for 88 yards and a touchdown to help the South defeat the North 21-16.

2004

Philip RiversThe Chargers star quarterback earned MVP honors in 2004 Senior Bowl.  He led the South to victory, completing 12 of 19 passes for 219 yards and two TDs in the first quarter and a single series in the fourth.

2006

Charlie WhitehurstWhitehurst was named the North’s offensive MVP as he helped lead his team to victory.  His signature moment came on a drive when he went a perfect 5-for-5 for 66 yards and a 15-yard touchdown pass.

2010

Cam Thomas Thomas showed how he can anchor a defensive line, and was of three players on the North team to record a sack.

2011

Vincent BrownThe San Diego State alum ranked second on the North team with four receptions for 43 yards. His longest catch went for 16 yards.

Shareece WrightWright tied for second on the North squad with three solo tackles, while also breaking up a pass in coverage.

Marcus GilchristThe safety was very active, and finished the game with three total tackles.

2012

Kendall Reyes
Eventually the team’s second-round pick in the draft, Reyes tied for the team lead with three solo tackles.  He was also one of just two players on the North squad to register a sack.

Brandon TaylorThe safety came through with a clutch play, intercepting Russell Wilson and returning it 21 yards for the South team.
