SAN DIEGO – The Indianapolis Colts named Chuck Pagano their head coach Wednesday.
Pagano is the brother of Chargers defensive coordinator John Pagano, a member of the San Diego coaching staff for the last 16 seasons. John Pagano expressed happiness for his brother in a statement Wednesday afternoon.
"I'm happy for my brother. It's a thrill for him and our entire family. We know how hard he's worked and everything he's put into his career," John Pagano said. "It's a great opportunity. I'm as happy about his opportunity as I am about my opportunity (as defensive coordinator) with the Chargers."
John Pagano, promoted to defensive coordinator earlier this month, also said it would be an honor to work with his brother, but "I have the job I've always dreamed of."
