SAN DIEGO – The NFL and Nike unveiled its new Nike Elite 51 uniforms Tuesday in New York.
The Chargers’ color scheme did not change. A thin white flap that previously followed the V-neck line now stops just below the shoulder numbers, and Nike’s emblematic swoosh appears on the left hip of the pants as well as on the right shoulder pad.
The uniform technology is being hailed as less restrictive with greater ventilation.

WEEKEND FISHING: Head Coach Norv Turner did some weekend fishing with Jimmy Johnson in the Florida Keys. The pair reeled in two Dorado, or Mahi-Mahi, as well as one Wahoo.
Turner was Johnson’s offensive coordinator for the Dallas Cowboys. The two helped Dallas secure victories in Super Bowl XXVII and XXVIII following the ’92 and ’93 seasons.
