The 5-foot-11, 210-pound Spurlock signed with the Chargers in the offseason and was on the team for the first four weeks of the season. Although the team didn’t want to lose him, the Chargers waived him on Oct. 3 to make room for cornerback ![]()
In his four games with the Bolts prior to being waived, Spurlock didn’t record any catches. However, he led all receivers in the preseason with 10 receptions for 134 yards. Spurlock did see extensive time on special teams and served as the backup punt returner, fielding one punt for five yards. It’s a position he could see time in immediately for the Chargers if ![]()
To make room for Spurlock, the Chargers waived Brinkley, who was in the middle of his fourth year with the team. The running back played in seven games, rushing 29 times for 60 yards along with nine catches for 63 yards. Brinkley was also inactive for three games this season.
